How to use it
Enter an account's numeric ID and press "Estimate". You'll get the month the account was most likely created and a range the date almost certainly falls into. No sign-up needed, and nothing is stored.
The estimate only works for personal accounts. Chat and channel IDs start with a minus and work differently — there's no answer for them.
How to find a Telegram ID
- Your own account in Telegram Desktop — in settings, under experimental features, you can turn on showing IDs in profiles; the ID then appears on any user's profile.
- Accounts in GramClaude — the account manager already shows each account's age, calculated with the same table, so there's nothing to type.
- Session files — the
.jsonnext to a.sessionfile often has the user ID as a separate field.
How the estimate works
Telegram doesn't show the registration date anywhere — not in the profile, not in the API. But IDs are issued in ascending order: the bigger the number, the later the account was created. If you know the dates for some IDs, the rest can be estimated between them.
That's how the tool works: we have a table of reference points, "ID — date", and an ID in between is estimated in proportion to its neighbours. Nothing but the number is sent, and there are no requests to Telegram at all.
How accurate it is
| Registered in | Accuracy |
|---|---|
| 2013–2017 | about ±1.5 months |
| 2017–2021 | up to ±1 year — few reference points |
| late 2021 | only "late 2021": Telegram switched to longer IDs |
| 2022–2025 | about ±3–4 months |
| after November 2025 | only "after November 2025" — no points yet |
Overall, half of the estimates are off by less than a month and a half, and four in five by less than three months. Nobody can give an exact date from an ID: IDs aren't issued strictly in sequence.
The official way to see the registration month
When someone who isn't in your contacts messages you for the first time, Telegram may show details about their account at the top of the chat, including the registration month. That's Telegram's own data and more accurate than any ID-based estimate — but that's the only place you'll see it.
Why there's no username lookup
Finding an ID from a username means asking Telegram about that person — sending a request from a live account. We don't make such requests about other people: it loads the accounts and checks up on someone without their knowledge. So the tool only takes an ID you already have.

Data
The reference table is built from two open MIT-licensed datasets — telegram-bot-getids (© 2019 Jonas Zohren) and telegram-id-age (© 2025 JOBIANSTECHIE): IDs are rounded to the million, and no real person's ID is in the table. The same table calculates account ages in the GramClaude panel.
